Why the blog? There are a lot of unknowns about these things and if there weren’t, they are at least, a nuisance, probably a weekly one, that has no predictable value. This is me speaking with my negative hat on. But, doffing that chapeau, and putting on something with a little sunshine around it, it is a different picture and I feel more up to the task. Writing, writing anything, is a chance to put your ideas out there, and generally for film-makers, that is a good thing to do.
With four decades of being in the business, I have spent a lot of time thinking about it and I ‘d like to use the blog to share some of those thoughts. Who knows, someone may find them useful. Even nonsense can be useful when recognized as such; it is an affirmation of the rational world for the more serious among you. And for those who like to play, nonsense can be food on the plate.
So here goes.
